The Lord Mayor visited Dixons Brooklands Academy
Posted 12th June 2024
The Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councilor Paul Andrews recently visited Dixons Brooklands Academy to present the students with the Kath Fry Award, as they won this year's challenge. Our students competed in the Kath Fry Challenge at Gyhll Head against many other schools across the borough and came out on top for the first time as Dixons Brooklands Academy, but this is the 4th time that we as a school have won this event, which has been taking place for 20 years.
The students enjoyed meeting the Mayor and shared their stories and memories of the adventures they had and how they each showed resilience throughout the grueling 3 days at Ghyll Head in January.
The students created memories that will last for a lifetime and are already looking forward to their day visit to Ghyll Head, which they also won alongside this excellent trophy. A well-deserved award for these hard working students.
