Sports Tour 2024 - Amsterdam

Diary from the Sports Tour

Day 1:

Students arrived safely on Monday 17th June via ferry from Dover to Calais. There are all set for their first sports fixture against ASWH tomorrow.

Day 2:

Students on the Amsterdam Sports Tour visited the iconic Johan Cruyff stadium to learn about the legendary AFC AJAX. They were able to see the impressive facilities, including a pitch walk, changing rooms and museum, agreeing it was an incredible experience!

After their stadium tour, the group visited Amsterdam city centre and enjoyed an historical canal cruise followed by some souvenir shopping!

In the evening, students played two fixtures against a local team. They performed very well against a challenging opposition and came out on top!

Day 3:

Students had a professional football training session with the coaches from FC Utrecht this morning. The group put their skills to the test under the guidance of the FC Utrecht academy coaches. Students are now off for some free time in the city of Utrecht, before their second fixture against Vriendenschaar this evening.

The students played their second game of the week, against Vriendenschaar on Wednesday evening. A significantly tougher challenge than Tuesday, but students showed great resilience throughout, and despite some excellent goals from both of our teams, they both narrowly missed out of a second win of the tour. Still so much to be proud of - well done to all players on a great performance.
